New Time Standards/Meet Names for Provincial Level Meets

In 2018, Swim Ontario experienced a significant over subscription at both the Spring and Summer Provincial Championships. This resulted in a substantial increase to the session lengths at these competitions. The Sport Management Committee (SMC) and Swim Ontario staff met following Summer Provincials and determined that the best way to manage subscription and session lengths for Provincial programming going forward was to:

  • amend qualifying time standards,
  • adjust age group formats
  • modify bonus swim structures

As a result the SMC and Swim Ontario staff have made recommendations that have been accepted by the Swim Ontario Executive Director.    To read the complete recommendations, information and standards click HERE.
